Program University for All. Course: The Sea and its resources

The popularization of Science and Technique referred to sea, coasts and their resources has received special attention. This course achieved such goals. A total of 50 authors contributed to their material didactical base of study (Tabloid), 48% out of them have scientific degrees, 74% have scientific categories, 10 professors are members of 9 national scientific institutions; in addition, 30 TV-classes were broadcasted with 57 minutes of duration each.

Program University for All. Course:“Let’s Know the Sea”

Published by a Group of Authors all of the National Aquarium of Cuba, the 50 000 units were distributed to national level in 32 pages and 4 chapters:

  • The Cuban Archipelago
  • Marine invertebrate
  • Marine vertebrate
  • Other marine resources

 


A trip to sea world

Educational channel as tool for the national teaching system with in total 12 programs with 27 minutes of broadcast each.

Themes: Origin of oceans; Characteristics of marine ecosystems; Main representatives of marine invertebrates, external and internal morphology of some fish species, tortles and sea birds, seals, sea lyons, whales and dolphins.


A walk into the Aquarium

Featuring 5 programs with 10 minutes of duration. Conceived for highschool and primary teaching. Specialized visit to the National Aquarium.

Themes:

  • History of the Aquarium;
  • Different alive marine species exhibits;
  • Recreational didactic activities with marine mammals, their educational messages;
  • Specialized internal operation.
 

University for All “Let´s Know the Sea”

The National Educative Television, in its Program University for All broadcasts from the 30 of April to the 31 of December of 2006 the course

During one hour all Sundays in the schedule of 10:00 -11:00 a.m. in 30 classes, participate to 18 specialists like professors all of National Aquarium of Cuba. This course is supported by a brochure of 31 pages.

The subjects were:

The Cuban archipelago: Testimonies of the life in the sea, Marine micro-world and marine and Coastal vegetation.

Marine invertebrates: Sponges and Cnidarians, Marine Worms, Molluscs, Crustaceans, Echinoderms and Tunicates.

Marine Vertebrates: Fish and Sharks, Marine Diseases of the Aquatic Organisms, Reptiles, Marine and Coastal Birds, Marine Mammals.

Other marine resources: Dangerous marine organisms, Important   resources of the sea and the coasts, Aquaculture, Uses and abuses in the coastal zone, Reflections and actions to protect and to conserve environmental marine-coast.
