On the occasion of 50 anniversary of the Cuban Science
Day and the 52 anniversary of the institution
several activities will be held in the month of January:
1.
Among many other activities organized an eminently scientific
activity profile in which the results will be presented in
biodiversity, marine mammals and education in correspondence
with the chronology of the institution itself in its 52 years.
2. Premiere of the documentary:
An unforgettable day
3. Environmental Education
Workshop, I: Knowing to Marti and his love for Nature.
Anyone interested should attend the Cuba
National Aquarium, located on the 1st Ave No. 4608 Esq 60,
Playa.
From 9:00 am - 3:00 pm, Monday through
Friday.
Interviews will be conducted to respond
to requests from January 23, 2012 until February 17, 2012.

Training of a new dolphin: Kalisa.
In salute to the 52nd anniversary (January
23) the Recreational activities didactic with DOLPHINS
in the Underwater will perform the show with 4 animals.
With the addition of this new dolphin changed
the entire sequence of the random string which makes it more
complex and interesting. Trainers are focused on this activity
to make this animal is including in the daily presentations.
Renewal process and analyze the work of the
Scientific Council.
In this new mandate will cover the period 2011-2015
and consists of 8 members and 4 alternates.
Participation in the 64 Fisheries Institute
meeting of the Greater Caribbean, Puerto Morelos, Mexico.
At this meeting took place, among other activities
a workshop on the lionfish. The Cuban delegation was composed
of 8 specialists, including 4 of the National Aquarium of
Cuba, headquarters of the "Lionfish" Project.

Were received in the year 2011, three exotic
collections which were included in the Collections of the
National Aquarium of Cuba with their respective databases:
• Isopods from Indonesia.
• Amphipoda from Indonesia.
• Amphipoda of the Republic of Libya.
Collection types are received from Rogelio
Ortiz Lalana and Manolo Ortiz in a gesture of trust deposited
in the Collection of the ANC.
